No one really. I liked cigars and switched (more like added, still smoke cigars) to try the pipe again. I tried when I was 18ish and didn't stick with me back then. If anything, just movies and shows in general where pipe smoking was shown, specifically, the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Homes series and the obvious, LoTR.

I Lunt around the neighborhood and along Cook St each day. The world sees me smoking my pipes but all I ever get his happy waves and smiles.

My grand father smoked cigs and I bought him a pipe about 60 yrs ago. I tried cigs but they tasted like hot air and paper. Upon return to the shop for tobac became a brother of the pipe.

Maybe Sherlock Holmes, he looked so cool with his pipe. But this might be a false memory. I lit my first pipe in my early 20th. It still looks cool to me when I do it now

If I’d been inspired I’d have taken it up a long time ago, but the most memorable person was a friend of my parents who died way too young, had a positive impact on me and loved his pipe.

It was Covid lockdown and I wanted something to get my mind at peace. I was also in a doctorate program, so my mind needed to stop and relax instead of swipe endlessly apocalyptic news articles about how many more people got hospitalized. The pipe got me outside away from screens .
