Bent shapes are growing on me

As with shapes and finishes, variety is my "thing." I have pipes bent so slightly I have to look to remember whether they are bent at all, and I have a number of full bent in various sizes, and an Oom-Paul/Hungarian that is about as bent as they come. Lately I've been focusing on the straight pipes, but that is just a phase. It's my July straight billiard festival.

I, too, have found myself buying and smoking more bents lately. Not sure why, really. They've just been calling to me.

I like bent pipes... it just seems I like straight pipes better.

All of my pipes in my modest collection (about 14, so far) are bent, half-bent, or quarter-bent (rather like their owner) save two, a Dr. Grabow Viking and one I made myself using a leftover straight stem from an earlier repair. The one HUGE advantage I haven't seen mentioned thus far for bent pipes is that they are harder to ingest "juice" from than a straight pipe, in need of some airway cleaning, and given a moment's inattention which allowed the bowl to rise above the level of the bit...YUCK!!!! I have since fixed all problems that led up to that unfortunate moment, but honestly, it was almost enough to make me swear off pipe smoking for a solid 15 minutes!
