Jiminks, I read your review on My Own Blends Three Nuns on TR. Looks like it might stand its own against other va/pers. Do you think it has some casing a la the Mac Baren syrup?

Workman: it definitely has a sweet topping, but I wouldn't say it was syrupy. Then again, I don't think the MacBaren Three Nuns topping is syrupy... just very sweet. Syrupy to me indicates goop, so our definitions may be different.
The MOB Three Nuns clone is a pretty good blend, but if you are an American, and can get it, you'll pay more than you would for Savinelli Doblone d'Oro, which I think it a better blend and closer match.

Well I'm not an american and Doblone d'Oro is unavailable to me. My tobacco vocabulary is not very sharp, and with syrup I did not mean goopy. I meant sugar sweet. I think Mac Baren uses something like sugared water, or at least that's what it tastes like to me. But I have no idea if MOB uses the same or not.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Three nuns is simply delicious. Just had a bowl last night and loved it. The perique shines in this blend.

Workman: The sweetness of MOB Three Nuns is around the center of mild to medium, and I'd say it's near the level of the MacBaren Three Nuns.

So Peck, are the 3Nuns tins in the picture the Imperial version, or some version prior to it, that had perique? If so, do you smoke such nirvana tobacco on special occasions?
