Greetings fellow pipe smokers,

I think I'm experiencing what I like to call "being Petersonised." I own over 30 pipes from various brands, including a Dunhill. However, none of them bring me the same pleasure as my Peterson Sherlock Holmes Rathbone pipe. My second favourite is also a Peterson. I'm curious to know if any of you share this affinity for Peterson pipes. I've noticed that some fellow smokers seem to have a kind of fixation on them.

Ive none either. Any time I see a new one I would like to have its at a price point where I could buy something I like better as an estate. Some of my Kai pipes were less than a nice new Pete. Im sure they are great pipes but I guess I have not quite yet been bitten by the Irish mosquito. It will probably happen eventually.

I do. Largely because they offer something unique in their system pipes that isn't much seen elsewhere. Their aesthetic is basically classical shaping with added muscularity, which I like.

But I got pipes from all over, both "artisan" and factory, but my deluxe systems are my best smokers.

About 40 pipes. All Peterson. Peterson just smokes right for me. Yupe, have all the Sherlock Holmes series. Third series was already discontinued and I couldn't get them.

I don't care anything about the traditional bent Petes. But, I have been buying the new straight spigot billiards. That sparked my billiard collection of spigs, which then grew to include a bunch of Chacom spigots and Rattrays spigs. I wouldn't say that makes me a Peterson fan, but at least not all of their pipes are repulsively ugly to me.

Many Pete fans out there. I, personally, have never owned one. But we each have to find what suits us best both in style and performance. We're all different and it's a damn good thing there are so many different brands and artisans out there so we can all land on home base with a little exploration and patience. That said, get more Petes and enjoy the hell out of yourself...and share it with the rest of us! :)

honestly when I close my eyes and picture a pipe it's a peterson. The two I have also are just great all around. Not only do they smoke well, the hand feel and substantial but slight mass just feels right. And the style is classic and yet has a more down to earth workmans pipe effect as well. They tend to walk that middle ground well. And also I am a man who is often thinking so it would stand I would smoke the thinking mans pipe.

Peterson pipes certainly seem to hold their value. I have been looking, off and on, for a good used Pete for years (Just cause I'm stingy) and used ones are as much as new. They just don't seem to come up estate very often, in my experience.

Maybe the Thinking Men smoke 'em to death?

I currently have two Peterson meerschaums, and they're great pipes. I wouldn't call them my favorites, but I do smoke them regularly. I used to have a Sherlock Holmes Squire Bulldog, which was a great pipe, but I sold it to purchase another meerschaum pipe. I kind of regret it, but I do enjoy the meerschaum I bought in its place. I bought a St. Patrick's Day pipe several years back, but it gurgled badly, so I moved it along to someone else. I am considering of buying a 2024 Christmas pipe, as I do like the look of them.

I have 16 pipes and two of them are Petes. I have a Fermoy B10 and a Arklow 150.

I've only been smoking pipes for 7 months, so in the interest of keeping the peace at home I decided to cool it with pipe purchases. BUT I constantly find myself looking at Petersons and basically find every shape attractive. I told myself that I would get a P-Lip spigot 05 and then I'll be done! Then I saw the copper spigot fishtail on the Christmas pipes and I'm all twisted up again!
