I voted on Tuesday. Drove a mile to the local high school, went in, SHOWED my picture ID, voted and then drove back home. Total elapsed time: under 20 minutes.
I was disheartened by a couple of things. 1. I recognized a couple of the poll workers as people I had seen standing on the side of the road supported Democratic candidates just last weekend. 2. There was no waiting in line to vote. An election this important should have people standing in line to vote.

There was a small line at our Rural voting place which is a rural Elementry school that my Father went to, I went to. The old ladies taking the ID remembered me from my Grandfather, he had told them his son came back from WWII, and Grandson came back from China, never could make him understand about Laos, Vietnam, to him it was all China HaHa. Footnote, this school had an active FFA Chapter, they would let the locals rent the meat cutting equipment for Butchering it was a small fee and supported the Chapter.

I would say consider yourself lucky. I waited almost 2 1/2 hours to vote. The line went the length of an entire block and started to wrap around the corner. The upside is, they brought pizza, cookies and even Dunkin Donuts coffee to us while we waited. :D

No, governing should be messy, noisy, and sometimes vicious. If everyone put aside their core beliefs to work together, or get along, all we would get is comfortable mediocrity.
Accurate, I think. War is the way of the world. And without it, heat death would come quickly.
