Let me start by saying that I do a fair amount of cooking, but very little baking, so bread is a stretch for me!
A few weeks ago, we were up in Blue Ridge Ga., at a place called Mercier's Apple Farm, a place we usually go to about once a year. It's a pretty big place, with lots of fruits (apples mainly), old fashioned canned goods (the pickled spicy garlic is my favorite), bread mixes and pies just to name a few things.

Well, when I saw a "Beer Bread" kit, I just had to have it! So a couple of nights ago, I decided to try it out. It's a "no-knead" kit, so that kinda makes it seem a little like cheating. As I was pouring a perfectly good beer into the mix, I was thinking to myself,"man, I sure hope this don't suck"! Well I was surprised, it tasted great! I even took some to work with me yesterday, just to se what some of the guys thought about it, and it was met with many compliments! I'll definitely be making more of this sweet, moist goodness in the near future!
Have any of you guys ever had, or made any before?

I am amazed how PBR has made such a comeback. Everyone was talking about PBR & I didn't know what PBR meant.

I am not a baker either because I can't follow recipes that you have to measure stuff out exactly, like beginner bread bakers need to, but the beer bread or Irish beer bread is easy for me & I like it.

My wife makes a pretty good beer bread, but I think its out of a box. PBR is all my dad would drink w/ a dash of salt.

I have had beer bread before and enjoyed it.
Bread hot from the oven with lots of butter tastes great. You just need to forget about calories for a short time.

There's nothing like warm homemade bread with some freshly made apple butter. Now I'm hungry! Guess I'll smoke another bowl instead. :puffy:

Looks good, petes03.
Before I moved onto the boat I used to bake all my bread. The apartment always smelled good. Now there is just not enough room to make it fun.

I miss it.

If I may be so bold, I made this video back in May. (I know... it's not beer bread, but as long as we're talking about bread, I may as well share it here)
Try it. It's good. Your tongue will thank me. :)
