Never refurbed a pipe and don't have the tool's so they are rough. My first one need's alot of work but smokes great.Number 2,this was a smooth finish but was so beat I tried to use a dremel on it "won't do that again, thing skipped and jumped all over".This is an unknown pipe say's Toronto G20...a memeber wanted a closer pic.The pipes were really cheap to buy but after having to sand the bowls down so much they don't hold alot of Tobacco...Anyhow I am new to this and kind of fun.

They look good to me, i would smoke em.
Looks don't matter with pete's. They are tools used to smoke tobacco and good at what they do. No fluff.
Ontario have you tried boiling water in the bowls to loosen up the cake?
Why would one want to do that?

boiling water poured into the bowls will break up the cake and the last set of pics showed pretty severe caking.
