I used to run a shop in Baton Rouge called the House of Briar - it moved from Government to Acadian throughway and changed names - was passed to a Philip Eversburg then to a mike McCormick who I learned has passed away. Does anyone know if the shop survived? Also had a sister shop The Pipe Smoker in Lafayette - would love some updates

It's still up and running by Mike changed the name to Bayou Tobacco. Nice little smoking area in the store, good selections of pipes, tins and bulk tobacco. I generally make it up to Baton Rouge once a month and stop by there if I have the time and money. That visit cost me over $275 in August. The shop is ran by Sarah now.
I've seen ads for a Piper's Haven in Lafayette and it looks like a good cigar and pipe shop. The other places are basically head shops posing as tobacco shops.
There may be one or two others over there.
