Hello friends, looking for a recommendation for someone who can restore a Barling's. Would need a new stem but I do not want to lose much or any nomenclature. Thanks for the help.

I recently inquired about recommendations for stem work and George responded by posting these links to acquaint me with what I was getting into as well as how things are on his end. He charges $25.00 per hour and is likely the best I've ever seen. That is, if I have seen better work, I could not say where or when, if ever. I'm saving my pennies now. :) Good luck!!

The owner of this pipe has contacted me to see about getting a stem made, and the only thing giving me pause is I haven't been able to find a photo of this model pipe anywhere, nor do I own one to use as a pattern.
Jesse? Anyone? (Accuracy/authenticity is essential in cases like this I think.)
Thanks! :D

No worries, I have a picture of this model from the 1962 catalog and will scan it and email it to you. You're covered.
Outstanding! :D :D :D

Or, maybe you are one of those guys with a fifty million dollar weekend getaway cottage on Southampton.
In which case "dmcmtk" stands for Dartagnan Montesque Churchill Maximilian Trothbridge Kensington the third. (or maybe the fourth)

Nope, but I was living in Montauk, NY (East of Southampton) when I came up with the user name. I have a feeling the shape could also have a saddle stem, at least that's how it's listed at Ye Olde Briars,

While the list is an excellent reference, it is not absolutely complete...

Dave,
That's some terrific reference that you supplied! This shape does come with a saddle bit, but the number is different. I really like the Ye Olde Briar's material. But we eclipsed him with the latest Pipedia page.
