Filter broke off in bit in my Sav dry system. What an ordeal to remove, tried pipe cleaner with no luck. Frustration led to hair brained idea of using drill or even a cork screw. Finally found a use for sharp pick on my vintage tamper that proved successful. Changing filter more often may prevent ?

Not sure. When I use a filter I change it after it gets pretty soggy. In the old days, this was once a day wth 4-6 bowls a day.
