The rep told me that the system was crashing since they came to work this morning, so not directly related to the Sobranie rush. But the Sobranie sale sure is't helping them.
All gone! You would think that with the apparent purchasing desire for any product the producer could charge what they wanted and would create sufficient stock to meet demand. Isn't this basic economics?!? To be honest, I am not particularly interested in the "new" Balkan Sobranie...
I wasn't even after an BS but the tobacco I did want sold out during the issues. I can live with that but it is unfortunate that I will now be bumped to the bottom of the list to even be notified it's in stock again. rabble rabble rabble, I need to go have a pipe.
No, Germain's choices are to modernize and likely change the exact taste of their blends or keep their current size and get near instant sell through. As much as people lament Germain blends being hard to get, I am glad a few of these traditional tobacco houses are still operating. The last thing we need is a few modern factories making every blend on the market.
Not saying there is a definite correlation but my wife is an NSA Security Analyst (cough..hacker) and just discovered who laudsi is and why they're getting my money on friday morning....again....probably no connection....but there was that home depot thing that happened right after I made a large purchase there too.
Yeah this didn't happen for me today I even called and they said they would call me back....nope no call back thanks smokingpipes.....for a swift ball tag! Lol
What a swift kick in the cojones! When I placed my order (06/19) for two tins of Balkan Sobranie it was listed as being in stock and I then received an email confirmation on the order (amongst the other tobaccos I ordered). When I logged into my account on SP yesterday afternoon it still listed my order as ‘Processed’, but still no Tracking Number which I thought rather odd. Then, yesterday evening I get an email from SP stating: 'We have sold out of the small shipment of Balkan Sobranie that you ordered. We were waiting on word from the distributor and they will not be shipping anymore anytime soon. That is back in a back order status.'
Needless to say I was a tad pissed off, so with that I canceled the entire order. Oh well, after having been able to score both a bag of Penzance and Stonehaven a few weeks ago I thought the tobacco god's were being overly kind to me with also giving me Balkan Sobranie in the same month. Perhaps another day, or year(?) and certainly nothing to lose sleep over albeit I’m still a bit irked as to how SP handled this.

We've been in the process of upgrading our servers and a few bugs have come to light that we didn't expect. Our IT team is working hard to eliminate these problems, and I expect that we'll have them completely resolved very soon. I apologize that this has occasionally been disruptive for y'all.

Not to rub it in, but I did receive my two tins of the Balkan from SP. At the time of ordering, I had to repeatedly try because the server was 'broken' (I'm not a tech geek). But, I lucked out and did get the order in as well as ordering a whole mess of pipe cleaners and a new tamper they featured.
