If today's Balkan Sobranie is anything like MB HH Balkan, I will pass. It's not that I don't like those style of blends, I just like other English blends better. I just rarely crave that kind of English and I am kind of over my TAD for a while (though there's a few more on my list I need to pick up, like the other D&S blends I don't have that I'm interested in).

Though I do like the Sutliff Match BS 759 way more than anything else I have tried in that bundle (Match BSOM, HH Balkan) and anything else I have previously tried that was marked as "balkan" (like Arango Balkan Supreme, amongst others).

Online supply of the "unicorn" blends is a drop in the bucket. Lots of them sit on B&M shelves collecting dust. Regular production blends such as Balkan Supreme, Balkan Sasieni, and others put currently available Balkan Sobranie to shame anyway.

Yeah though it seems to be sought after and all, I was not overly impressed with this latest incarnation of BS but having never tasted the OG I grabbed a few tins and yes I found most of them at B&Ms the last few years, though of course all the other JF Germaine were sold out , so I guess the Market has spoken on this one.

Balkan Sasieni is a balkan I enjoy from time to time. I don't know when that shot up to almost $13 a tin....that used to be an $8-$9 blend.

Luckily I have a great relationship with my latest local and they call me on drops, it pays to have actual people skills and make an effort for sure.

Name some great Balkan blends. Something complex and currently available without jumping through a hoop or two. Balkan Supreme isn't bad, but not exactly great.
