Anyone else every have a bad experience from smokingpipes.com?
I ordered an unsmoked Perterson that was labeled as having a vulcanite stem and it is obviously NOT vulcanite. (obvious click when I tap on it)
First order from them and maybe the last... sigh.

In my experience smokingpipes has been nothing but great in every aspect. Price, selection, and customer service. Have you reached out to their customer service department to discuss your issue? If they run true to course, they will either give you a good explanation or make it right.

I wouldn't be surprised if they even respond to you on this thread.

I have had a 'bad' experience with them. I won't go into old history, but I would advise to contact them ASAP: they have great service and I'm positive they will find a way to make it right.

You should have called them first, before posting here. If your goal is to resolve the issue, then what is your best prospect?

I'm not familiar with Perterson pipes, but there are many types of rubber material that get lumped under the term "vulcanite".

First order from them and maybe the last... sigh.

That's a bit rash.
If a vendor occasionally screws up, but quickly makes good on it, they've won me as a customer.

Good to know that I'm not allowed to post my thoughts on here... have a good day.

This happens fairly often here, and I've often wondered if it wouldn't be worth having a "Problem with a vendor?" Sticky on the site to make sure members have contacted the vendor and inquired at least before posting here. Seems to be a recurring issue that isn't exactly fair to many of the site sponsors.

It may be a sore spot for some, but for members that have been here a while it's mostly just frustration with seeing the same thing happen over and over. You are perfectly welcome to post your thoughts, it's certainly not against any rule that I know of. You didn't do anything wrong, but woodsroad isn't wrong either, following up with the vendor is typically the fastest road to success. Companies, especially larger ones, sometimes have stuff slip through the cracks, it is inevitable. As a previous poster said, how they deal with it when that happens is really the hallmark of a good service.

Munchies, your reaction is really out of order here.
You posted an inquiry, invited responses, and you got them.

If you don't like the responses that you got, you are free to say so, but don't try to guilt us into feeling sorry about anything. That generally doesn't go over well here.

Yes, delete this tread please.

That doesn't usually happen here, either. The thread will remain, as have many others just like it.

I think we can all relax now that the issue is resolved. Munchies, please don't take this as indicative of a typical course of discussion on this forum. It is largely a very fun, friendly, and interactive place to be. All thoughts are welcome.

Thoughts that are unfair and inconsiderate of our sponsors are certainly not welcomed. Smokingpipes is not only a very important supporter of Pipesmagazine, but they are considered one of the best vendors in the business because of their fantastic customer service. They address and resolve problems quickly and fairly. Give them a chance to fix it before you go airing your complaints here. There are a lot of threads here that go something like "XXX screwed up my order, I called them, and they fixed it right up". That is a much fairer picture of how a vendor operates.

Munchies,
Welcome to the forum. We like pictures of new pipe acquisitions.
It would be great if you can post a new thread with a picture of the Peterson. We want to see it.
