The youth group of our church went on a missions trip to Twin Peaks Bible Camp, in western Colorado. My wife and I drove the luggage vehicle, and the kids were part of the team. When we arrived, we were given the choice of splitting up and staying in the guys and girls cabins with indoor plumbing, or share a log cabin with two other couples, with outhouses. All the couples chose the second options, and we got the private outhouse. The wives all insisted that husbands go with them during the late night visits. This was not really necessary, since there was only one bear sighting in the camp this week. And it was a small bear.
One last thought this topic. Picture your wife trying to get a bird out of the outhouse, so she can use it.
I tried to upload a picture of our outhouse, but photobucket would not upload it.

Further observations from the trip:
I saw many dear along the road, only two were alive.

Truck stops have the best coffee.

Who puts up yard sale signs near an interstate off ramp?

Why would teens, who know the camp has stinging nettles, think that hide and seek after dark is a good idea? I guess I already answered my question.

The oak trees at high altitudes are only shrubs around 8’ high. The bears like the acorns.

Bad weather only happens when I turn the wheel over to my wife.

Following another vehicle is harder than planning your own route.

High altitude has an effect on breathing and working.

The difference between arid and lush land, is strictly by water fall or drainage.

The kids were awesome! Tremendous workers, without complaining.

God’s creation is incredibly beautiful and diverse.
I could provide details on how to clean an outhouse, but many of you would complain, and Kevin would ban my account.

Yeah, the road kill on the Interstate really kicks up this time of year...the bugs at sundown are pretty bad too.

Glad you had a great time. I'll share one other thing that's good to know: if you're out hunting for a fishing spot with your buddy and he says, "Watch out, that's poison ivy", don't scoff and say, "Yeah city boy, like you know what poison ivy is", then cut it down with your Kabar just to show 'im.

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Welcome home. Me, I'm retired so everyday is a vacation day for me. When I was younger-college days, I spent my summers in the Ocala National forest in central Florida at summer camp. Not much better than a camp setting for smoking my pipe. I loved those days.
