Well:
12 years ago i got bit by fire ants which triggered a disease that laid dormant in me from birth which brought forth a disease called Charcot-Marie -Tooth which is a duplication of the peripheral myelin protein- 22 gene and having a duplication they cancel each other out so I started Having major Nerve destruction. Within 3 months I had to quit work. I've had 46 falls so far. It's a progressive disease with no cure ,so now I am at the point where I can just barely walk and spend most of my time in a power chair. It was just in my arms and legs for 10 years and the past 2 years it has gone into my core. Now only one lung is working as all of the nerves in the diaphragm for the right lung quit and I'm on down to the point where I only have 30% of my inhale and exhale pressure. Once it keeps going I'll just die of Respiratory failure.. It's also destroyed 50% of my hearing and the list keeps going on and on with things that are failing. 6 months ago I started having trouble swallowing as the nerves that trigger the muscles in the esophagus are being effected. I've now lost 17 pounds in the last 6 months, 3 last week. As the muscles go away I can see more veins everywhere, and my Dad's ring won't stay up anymore. There's nothing I can do but ride it out and then go "Home" on the "Other Side"

What can one say, except "May God bless and keep you."

I remember you and your great collection from the old days. I'm devastated to hear your bad news. I truly hope your heart is in the right place, and the transition will ne a blessing.

Whoa, that's next level. I know what it is to suffer the consequences of spinal injury, but there are long periods of stability. You have a straight line degenerative condition, man that's a tough battle. You know where it's heading; fear nothing, life is just a phase we go through.

Wow, that is an awful story but sounds like you are making the best of a tough break.
Last year, we when moved to Southern Louisiana, I learned about fire ants the hard way. I got bit pretty good two times, before I learned how to avoid and then eliminate them from my yard (fire ants are like oxidation on a vulcanite stem, they always return). I got bit enough to trigger a bad reaction but nothing permanent. Now I'm vigilant. Its good to see you back!
