The kids and I are babysitting a brisket in the smoker while I enjoy my favorite cob with a bowl of Founding fathers and a Woodford on the rocks, and we don't care if the brisket ever gets done!

yes the one on the right is the father of the others, separate litters all three are good trackers. Harris County Sheriffs Department have borrowed them a few times.

Beautiful dogs. I am owned by two Basset Hounds. They are gentle, beautiful, stubborn and goofy. I wonder if Bloodhounds have similar qualities of personality to their close to the ground cousins.
We had a rescue Bloodhound for a few years. He was a retired SAR dog from the local area.
It was fun giving him "work" to do around the farm.
He was an expert kitten finder.
Local farms had us come locate litters of kittens in their barns and surrounding farms.
My job has given us the opportunity to keep some odd characters over the years. Boris the Bloodhound was a real character.

Oh yes stubborn, independent, silly, loving, protective, and most loyal dogs I've ever been owned by. In our world Bassets are known as Low Rider Hounds.
We have a lab almost a year old. We’re training him in basic things now but I wonder what more we can do.
Beautiful dogs. Many, many, many years ago when my sons were in the Boy Scouts we were at a jamboree and the county Sheriff Dept was there with their bloodhounds doing demonstrations and telling us about the breed. Amazing animals. It was interesting how they kept putting their noses into a big bucket of water and it was explained that they keep flushing their nostrils clean. I have a German Shorthair Pointer that has a very good and sensitive nose and she also when she drinks puts her nose deep into the bowl.
