Well, I have a tupperdor with somewhere around 75 cigars in it because I wanted to support the local cigar shop after they went to the trouble of ordering some pipe tobaccos for me.

Pipe tobacco had a 95% wholesale tax on it, so they made very little off pipe smokers. Cigars were around 35%, on the other hand, so that and cigar accessories were what kept them afloat. Very nice people too, and the shop was always a pleasure to visit.

I don’t see myself hanging out in a smoking lounge, though. Pipe or cigar smoking is a solitary, turn off my brain, idly contemplate random things type of activity for me, not a social activity.

I don’t tend to smoke in a shop… I have, but I’d rather be elsewhere. Good people sure, but, smoking a pipe can be pretty personal. But - when I visit a B&M even though I won’t smoke there - it’s never less than $100… always have blends not available online. So, I go for it while they have it. I visit quarterly at best.
