Probably in the minority here but I never really was into Carlin certainly not a dimwit but maybe a midwit at best.
I'll never understand the appeal we all got our opinions but when it comes to comedy I like to laugh so I'll go with Norm Macdonald and if I want to laugh while being philosophized at I'll go with Diogenes. YMMV

Norm was simply a marvel. The comedians comedian with a lightening fast mind and the ability to leave other in awe while he played the fool. I'd call him one of the GOATs of comedy. Sigh. A great loss to the world of comedy.

Carlin is a bit overrated in my opinion. Sure he had some decent stuff but he was really just a pissed off old man with a microphone, what’s so exciting about that? He definitely inspired some of my favorite comedians but I never got what was so great about him. I deal with those negative thoughts in my head day in and day out, the last thing I need to do is hear more of that shite. The man who did it right was Bill Hicks.
