I find myself inserting a pipe cleaner into the bottom of the bowl before packing and removing the cleaner before lighting. I don't think I've ever had the problem of tobacco particles getting in my mouth.
Only thirty years, on and off, here, but I've never experienced anything like that, either. And I'd be alarmed if I did.First pieces of tobacco now, embers in the mouth. In fifty plus years I've never experienced sucking an ember into my mouth.
Or just buy pipes with stingers in them. :DCut a pipecleaner in half and shove it down the stem, and leave it for the duration of the smoke.
Well, not dust, but the fines. They can go on the top 1/4 or less of the bowl, and will not reach the airway as they'll all be consumed in the first half of the smoke. On another thread, some members mentioned that they use the dust at the bottom of bulk bags for kindling, etc. I don't really do that, and part of the reason is that I don't want any fine particles ending up in my mouth. It might be overcautious, as I haven't tried smoking the dust so can't say it would create any undesirable effect, but I just haven't been tempted to do it to save a gram of tobacco. The "shake" goes in the garden.
Some of both, I guess. I toss the powder.Well, now that I’ve started ordering more bulk tobaccos, I find that I have very fine tobacco and powder in the bottom of the bag/container. I hesitate to add this in while jarring as it may affect the burn and/or taste?
be sure that you’re sipping your pipe, ever so slightly. Don’t draw in heavy like with a cigar
