I can't say I'm much of a fan of the one or two aromatics I've tried. I've found the taste to be too artificial and detracting from the taste of the tobacco. For me, tobacco should taste like tobacco.

However, I have tried C&D Autumn Evening and it's a pretty nice smoke. I like it. Taste good, smells good, smokes well.

Sometimes a tobacco with a good smell can help to keep the peace, if you know what I mean. Autumn Evening is one of those.

With that In mind, anything similar to Autumn Evening out there?

In my experience stick with the less goopy aromatics. Many from Denmark are the best in my opinion....WO Larsen, MacBaren, and Rattrays aromatics are good too.
Many of these are nearly bone dry and taste like tobacco first with a light flavor added.
My all time favorite aromatic so far is Cult Blood Red Moon. This can be a very controversial opinion ive found. Many love it, but others think its cloyingly sweet. Its described as a cherry cordial topping....cherry and chocolate. Its honestly the ONLY aromatic ive personally found that tastes like it smells, which is the most often cited reason people dislike aromatics.
I should add that ive only smoked "full" aromatics for a few months. For the first 30 years of my piping experience, I stuck with non aromatics and light aromatics like OGS and MacBaren blends...Va#1, Symphony, Golden Extra.
