Yeah, I don't have a spare $300 laying around, especially when this is probably a one-time thing and I already have a working FoodSaver sitting in the pantry.
Don’t look at as an initial cost. Think of it as saving you money when it comes to freezing food. These type machines way outdo a food saver in holding a seal. Also vacuums out as little or as much as you want.
The ability to seal Mylar is merely a side effect of a very responsible purchase.

Unfortunately I have none. :(
I have lots of VA#1, Symphony, and Golden Extra....and ODF, and Vintage Syrian, but I missed out on stocking up on Plumcake.
Oh, you have options. DM me 😀

I don't have $300 even for that.

Standard FoodSaver and standard bags can store frozen food for a year, the only thing we use it for is freezing rabbits, which we always eat within a year.

There's a chill in the air this evening, and the whole week is shaping up to be more like autumn. Some Plumcake will certainly be in the works at some point this week.

Just wanted to say, it's very easy for all of us to mourn the death of beloved blends, and castigate STG and its kin for doing what corporations inevitably do. But the fact is, even with all that, there's still so much variety out there, it's enough to make one's head spin. We should never lose sight of that any more than we should hesitate when our spidey senses tell us it's time to stock up while the stocking's good.

Modern Plumcake is great, but I've got a tin from 2015 I'm saving for a special occasion. We should all take the time to savor our treats, and life in general. As someone who lost an uncle and a father-in-law this year...you never know when your number gets called.
