I spent a few minutes refining the instructions to ensure the person and even the setting remained unchanged. I was able to restore a picture of my dear mother at fifteen. I found the result simply marvelous. Afterward, I imported it into Lightroom for some color adjustments, and voilà.
She was overjoyed to see the photo again and shared some behind-the-scenes stories about it, including how her grandmother made the dress.

I use it for all my teaching in college courses to help students test scenarios, review data, and do brainstorming with their group. That being said, I tell them not to trust everything they read and to do the research to fact-check, as large language model chat systems are known to hallucinate (make up information).

That being said, after hearing the Pipes Magazine Radio Show episode about using AI to help identify tobacco blends that might fit a pipe smoker's profile, I dove down the rabbit hole. I have been using it to build my own tobacco blends to meet a certain style or attempt to create something close to a gone blend. For someone who had no idea, what they were doing when I started, it has gotten me close to where I need to be and with some tweaking, I have a number that I am very happy with.

Then I started using it to create my own custom labels for the storage jars, and with a little work, I have the prompts down to get something that I want and am willing to stick on a sample bag for friends.

When used wisely, a whole new world of possibilities can be discovered. :)

💁🏾‍♂️ I don't like AI art being used by corporations to cut real artists out of a job. BUT, I'm fine with it in personal use. I'll have to look this Latak-AI to recommend me blends.

The biggest problem with it is simply that people will overly rely on it and take the philosophy of good enough. And that people relying on it for important choices often don't understand what they're working with at all.
Though my favorite AI stupidity was having it tell us about Albert Einstein's indie rock band he was in previous to his later career.

I agree as that is probably one of the biggest changes to a career, but we had the same thing when computer were introduced to graphic design. This is a different game though and the artists are also using AI in their work. Be interesting to see where it ends up.

What system did you use to recommend you blends? Was it just Chatgpt?

Google Gemini has worked the best for me to get in the ballpark. I have tweaked them all for sure and respect real blenders even more. True art and skill for what they do.

I’ve been making a bunch of internet searches over the past few weeks as part of an information search related to a project I’m working on, and can say, without hesitation, that AI assisted search results have been uniquely awful, useless, error laden, and a burning pain in the ass. It’s not ready for prime time. It’s a time wasting impediment. It’s almost like it has to be tricked into providing something useful.

Settle down, consumer units.

Your function is to enrich the "I have nine private jets and four megayachts" Dark Triad crowd by whatever means they choose, and you will like it or all accounts and electronic evidence of your existence will be eliminated.

There is no "C"

"Good enough" is the watchword for most people who buy illustration and photography services. It will bury all of us. Thank God I'm approaching retirement.
The art of developing photos has been a thing of the past for decades. Nowadays, it's a niche activity, reserved for enthusiasts and nostalgists in their basements. Even DSLRs are no longer essential. Times change... After all, one doesn't see anyone demanding the return of engine cranks to start their car in the morning, simply to appear more virile, strong, and intelligent.

Pardon me, Jesse, but I have the distinct impression you're spending more time criticizing the tool than you are reading its manual. Proper research is conducted with information, not a crystal ball. If you fail to provide your sources, you might as well be consulting a drunken fortune-teller at the cheapest corner bar.

A conservative pipe smoker, I can understand. But a reactionary one? That strikes me as truly peculiar.
