Hey, everyone. It’s been a while! I have a new estate find. I cleaned it up, and I’m selling it to a colleague as a gift for her grandfather. She asked for some history.

The problem is I can’t find any. Can anyone help?

It has Arthur-Leonard, Ltd on the side. That’s all.

I saw some info about Leonard Pipes in Oregon, but the markings look different.

Any help is appreciated.

Well, it's not an addition to what you have likely already found, but just keep in mind that they used a variety of different manufacturers to provide them with house pipes over the years, hence the different markings.

There are several photos of different stampings in the link below,

The grain on this Dublin shape reminds me of some Charatan pipes I've seen—I wonder if there's a specialist here on the forum that might know if it matches a known shape/number made by that marque (or another company).

Arthur Leonard had a close friendship with Louis Chapuis, nephew of Henri Comoy and manager of the business in the wake of his death in 1924. Having said that the stamping of “Imported Briar” on your pipe strongly suggests it was of American manufacture.
