Art deco' with silver band

Well bought this silver band some weeks ago,it comes from india or nepal and i just bought it to add to a pipe.So started to carve one from a good big ebauchon.The pipe is big, and band has been added easily.My wife told me that don't like this band and now i'm not sure if it has been a good idea,probably never do it again.What think you? Needs to be removed?

Nice pipe, and nice band. It reminds me of doilies on my Nonna's tables; a little old fashioned, but wouldn't be the same without it.

I like the band and I like the pipe, but the two don't fit together at all in my opinion. x)

I am with nemrod and Paul - both are great pieces, but together they clash a little bit.

I think they paid up great. Almost makes it look like a Women's pipe though. Jewelry and all.
