Aromatics just aren't for some people. Same can be said for English, Balkan, Burley, Virginia, VaPers etc.

I have smoked aromatics for years but started expanding into Va's and VaPer's and even a little (very little Latakia) in various blends lately, although I still like to mix in aromatics about 1/2 the time.

It seems to me from what I have experienced, and the experiences of others here on the forums, that flavors must be somewhat constantly in play. Some things you like over a long term, while others may be good initially and loose their romance over time or may be found much more flavorful after a time in the cellar. At any rate I find this to be true for me. Maybe it is just the abundance of choices make my taste buds fickle. Aside from those mentioned some of the aromatics I enjoy over the long haul are Peter Stokkebye 6 Sweet Vanilla, Ole Shennandoah Barrel No 76, Boswells Berry Blend, Penn Dutch Treat and Raspberry Cream, CAO Black and Moontrance, Borkum Riffs Honey & Orange, Milan Tobacco's Butternut Berry, Buttered Rum and Honey Smoke, Hearth & Home Vermont Meat Candy, and Signature Apple Pie, and Nording's Hunter Blend Labradore. Labradore to me taste very much like it smells, at least for now :)
Mike, I am going to try the 25% cut with Va's on some of my aromatics that seem light.

In some vanilla tobaccos; it's maybe once every smoke or two that I actually taste it. Which is fantastic, but it's more for the smell in my world. If you REALLY like cherry and want to taste an aromatic as it smells. Bjarne Viking Erik the Red. Not a big cherry person so haven't been into it, but it tastes as it smells and lingers everywhere. Just use a cob first...seems to stay in whatever you smoke it from pretty well.

The majority of aromatics are just flavored air. The exceptions are Bob's Chocolate Flake, Chocolate Flake, (Sam Gawith), Mac Baren Vanilla Cream Flake, Sam Gawith Kendal Cream Flake (outstanding smoke), and my favorite aromatic...Ennerdale. There may be others, but so far, these are the best aros I have ever run across. All the others are much too mild for my taste. I want to feel like I have smoked something.
