I smoke by myself, outside 99% of the time. No heavy aromatic is ever going to replace "non" aromatics for me, but I do like some of them.
They key is to smoke them very lightly. Once the tobacco is burning, the flavor is gone. You want smoke from the smoldering tobacco near the burning tobacco. This goes for all tobacco, but especially aromatic ive found. Even what most people think is slow, is too fast for most aromatics.
This may or may not be a stupid question, but would you have tips for slower smoking?

I have come to a realization... aromatics are not for the pipe-smoker, but for the pipe-smoker's wife.
As it's been noted already, you probably can't taste them. Personally I'm very partial to scented Gawith blends, even the current shadow of their former selves. Possibly because a) you can taste the great tobacco beneath the scenting, and b) because they're not boring light sweet Danish blends.

You may come around, then again you may not, whatever makes you enjoy a smoke.

He literally opened his sentence by suggesting aro smokers smoke them for the wife.
The entire post changed directions into a query. Reading the entire post helps. None of the following posts nor his own suggested any snobbery about aromatic smokers which was what I was referring to if you read my post and the one I was replying to.

If that's what you guys are, fair enough, you won't hear another word from me.
That's the only hateful reply I've seen in the thread.

I have yet to try to try some Lakelands. I only have a couple pipes, and I hear they can cause ghosting, so I think that getting a Lakeland also requires me to get a pipe, right? Which one(s) are your favorite?
I know you didn't ask me but some Lakelands I enjoy are bobs chocolate flake, Samuel gawith Kendall creme flake, erinmore flake ( not technically a lakeland) Kendall flake (discontinued) coconut twist (discontinued). Personally best bet is try a bunch, they're love or hate but then they also grow on you, like I hated ipa beer first time now I love it. The gosting is over exaggerated
