Get yourself some Petersons 2011 Christmas Holiday Season, anybody into a rich Aromatic will love this, just the thing for your xmas morning pipe, fruity and spicey, hard to know wether to eat it or smoke it.
Just ordered a tin from smokingpipes.com and can't wait to try it!! Also have 2 more tins on McClelland's Holiday Spirit in the order.... :P
I agree with the OP... I have been exclusively smoking English/BAlkan blends for the last 6-7 months and all of a sudden aro's just feel right with the temps starting to dip....

Weird thing I have noticed is that I can't taste aromatics well unless I go for a few days without smoking. I have been trying to not retro-hale or exhale smoke through my nostrils as much. I think that doing so deadens my taste. Bottom line is I got the 1Q in the mail and smoked a couple bowls.
It is not bad as in the negative aspects of many aros that I outlined in the first post; however, it tastes like nothing to me. Smells good and all but just does not deliver much flavor at all. It reminds me of Erinmore in that the room note is pleasant but the flavor is ever so slight.

Yeah, that's the point and the appeal to 1Q
It's a simple smoke. Good for when you don't know WHAT the hell to smoke.
My Wife said it smelled like coffee when I was smoking it...outside... in the cold... like the animal I am. :crying:

Altadis Maraschino (couldn't find a review on that anywhere, help please?)

And CAO Cherrybomb.
I've read mixed reviews on the Cherrybomb. Looks to be another love it or hate it but will definately be the ghost from hell kind of tobacco. What can I say, I like to live dangerously. :puffy:
Let the quest for the perfdect cherry blend BEGIN.

MacBaren has some good aros that don't give much tongue bite. The 7 Seas line is devine for an American aromatic style. My favourite is the Regualar Blend of the 7 Seas line. Great vanilla and chocolate flavour that intermingle and sometimes the great leaf blend of Black Cavendish and Golden Burley hit the forefront momentarily. Also love the ever popular Vanilla Creame from MacB. I'd say give Peterson's Special Reserve 2011 a try. Many die hard Latakia/English smokers have said it's about the only aromatic they like. Might also want to give De Luxe Mixture a try by Peterson. It's a very nutty flavoured Black Cavendish and Virginia blend that screams holiday season. Great mix of vanilla and walnut with a touch of honey. As before I'd suggest to smoke a little slower and tamp a little more with aros to avoid tongue bite. Used to get bitten almost everytime I lit up, but now I hardly ever get tongue bite and mostly smoke aros. The tamping helps keep the tobacco lit better, so you're not puffing more frequently to keep it lit and in turn getting the dreaded bite.

PS Nougat is pretty good and 1-Q is great! I also like BCA a good bit. I don't know if you would consider something like Butternut Burley an aro but it smells good and tastes great to me! 8)

Mac Baren 7 Seas Royal Blend is a smooth aromatic. I prefer it to my other current aro: McClelland BVC. While the latter is *great* smelling, it burns a little too hot. I'm hoping it will mellow once it dries out a bit.
Any others have experience with the McClelland BVC?

I've been dying to try some of Boswell's stuff. It's a damn good price for some of the bulks and I havn't heard any bad things about them. Christmas Cookie is the one I want to try the most.
