I've done a quick search online to learn about what toppings are made of without any luck. Are they natural ingredients or chemical replicas? Thanks in advance for any input or links.

Part two: Is there a way to know which blends and/or flavors are natural toppings?
Most companies keep their recipes to themselves. Why?
guess. And unlike food it's not always like it is with food. Since things taste different burnt then eaten.

The "why", is why do you ask? The reason for the guarding is obvious to even the most obtuse of us. 
Would it shock you to know that most production tobaccos have one sort of added flavoring or another?
Curiosity of course. I guess my apparent obtuseness made me think the answer to the ingredients of toppings was slightly less complicated. It's not like I asked how to build a piano.

Interesting. I quit production cigarets 30 years ago mainly because of the chemical additives.
Some things you can kind of tell by trying. C&D Nutty Irishman just absolutely has Frangelico (or perhaps a cheaper hazelnut liqueur) and a little sweetened whisky sprayed on it.
There're some fellas here who are into blending who can give you a more concrete answer. The rest of us have no idea. That's the danger of seeking knowledge in the internet: we'll tell you even if we know nothing.
Nearly all pipe tobacco is cased with such things as sugar water, honey, anise, etc.
I am approximately 112 degrees.
Maybe I should have prefaced with this. The question was sparked by my first puff of a cherry aro. It wasn't very "natural" tasting.
