A few months ago I had the opportunity to visit an amazing pipe shop (and cigars) and lounge, along with conversing with the owner: Arlington Pipe and Cigar in Arlington Heights Illinois.
This was a shop filled to the brim with pipe tobacco and pipes. An entire room was dedicated to our hobby! The room was filled with bulk and tin tobacco; ranging from C&D to Samuel Gawith to Wessex. They also had “sniffer” jars for their tinned tobacco’s that allowed you to take a sniff of the tobacco before buying!
The lounge is in the middle of the store, comfortable, and large, with I think no charge if you bought at least $5. Nothing felt cramped or crowded. Around the lounge was their humidor with an innumerable amount of cigars. Some chairs were setup for solitude, while other couches were setup in a square to allow for a conversation.
The owner and store manager were wonderfully knowledgable, welcoming, and easy to chat with. I believe a father and the son acquired from someone else and the son has since expanded their square footage and offerings, along with blending a couple in-house blends.
During my visit I was able to acquire some truly amazing blends at a really good place. This included picking up a tin of Grand Oriental Series by McClelland for less than a Cracker Barrel dinner, and some exclusive 2022 Chicago Pipe Show blends by C&D.
If you are in the area and in need of a true pipe shop, stop in here you will not be disappointed. If I lived closer I would be tempted to visit every week!
