Like a lot of contemporary art, this pipe is VERY interesting to me. I appreciate it's form and could probably spend HOURS just looking at it. But I doubt I'd ever buy it. It's one of those things I love looking at, but wouldn't want to own; too ostentatious.
But that's just personal taste.

Very cool looking pipe, but not so much for me. Reminds me of the "Tattoo" pipe I used to smoke, with ah, lets say not tobacco in it. I did love that Tattoo....

Many Arita pieces are much less flashy than this one, but it was just the most exceptional I saw. It reminded me of a hood ornament on that massive 1958 Impala driven by Toad in American Graffiti. When I saw it, I heard this song in my head

It's certainly a sweet piece of briar, and the transition from shank to stem is amazing...but it wouldn't find itself in my collection, at any price. To me, it almost looks like something one would find in the display cases of disreputable tobacconists (and reputable head-shops); but carved rather than blown.
