Are You Getting An Even Black/Tar Buildup?

I guess I pay zero attention to build up. If it starts to look like trouble I guess Ill wipe it away with a paper towel. No worries.

When I’m doing my blends, I find a sticky sort of soft cake build up, much quicker when I smoke blends that were cased with some sugar(rum or bourbon for me). The uncased ones burn cleaner with less buildup.

I think I know what that is. Do you clench more on the left?

When I first started, I learned to scrape just where I needed to. I'd never finish a bowl, so there would be no cake at the bottom. Some pipes, cake would only form at the top for the first 20 bowls. so that's where it was reamed until it evened out.
