“Tobacco Row” Richmond Virginia USA
New Orleans, LA. Baton Rouge, LA. Charleston,SC. Greenville, SC.
El Paso, TX. High Point, NC, Richmond, VA. Small cities except EL Paso & New Orleans but in the country now and thats what I prefer.
I miss the convenience of a city but I like being able to do whatever I want and whenever I want to do it without being in a congested area.
Try firing a 300 win mag, pissing of your sidewalk or blaring Steeley Dan outdoors at 200am and see how that goes in a city. My neighbors are
The deer, bears, rabbits and birds.
My view is of the rolling hills, grape vines, roses and ornamental trees
And with a spotting scope or 10 power binoculars I have neighbors.
I will say thank gosh for online shopping though!

I actually like them both equally. Too long in the country and I'm itching to get back to the city. Too long in the city and I start missing the countryside.

Now there is a point where a city gets too big for me. Mumbai was just too much with too many people crammed together. I did not enjoy taking 45 minutes to go half a mile. Likewise there's a point where I feel it's too remote. If it's going to take an hour to reach a hospital or a gas station, count me out.

Me, more country than city. I grew up in Chicago from 1959-1969 and then our parents moved us all out to Crystal Lake which was small town in 1969. I worked in Chicago and nearby suburbs for about 5 years. I like visiting cities while traveling, but I don't want to live in one.

I think New Orleans is considered a third world war zone now. You can fire you 300 win mag and probably won't get noticed.
