Are These Factory Fills?

Happy thanksgiving!

I pulled out my 02 Peterson Halloween 2025 pipe after the festivities today and put my first smoke through it with some autumn evening.

After the smoke I gave it a quick pipe cleaner twist wipe and noticed these 2 craters, both on the right hand side. First time seeing anything like this. I tend to avoid wasting your guys time if I can so I asked my AI with some photos, and it’s telling me this is just factory fills.

But that thing has also told me something was just coating separation, then you all told me it was a crack.

So can you all let me know if these are factory fills that got uncovered during the first burn, or is it more/less serious?

If it were me,I'd stop wiping out the chamber with a paper towel. Just let the cake build and protect the walls. I never wipe them out.

Two dozen bowls and you will forget it was ever a concern. Just smoke it and let the natural caking happen.

looks like it might be a pit covered by coating and looking worse for it. That's my guess. And I do mean guess. Either way looks like something that will be totally covered after a few smokes and forgoten forever.

Looks fine to me ... keep smoking and don't wipe out too hard. It got hot and some of the cake flaked off. It will come back with use.
