I've seen a few posts on Forums commending GBD pipes among Britwood brands.

While GBD is generally regarded as a British marque, its origin is in fact French. Both the French and British companies were interlinked for decades.

I have both French and British hallmarked GBDs, which are all good smokers.

I do not have any post-1970s GBDs, so I can't comment on the quality of those.
