Well, that's how I get my haters... by pointing out to them, in a blunt way, that they're stupid.

People don't like that, I guess?. I thought I was doing them a service, like that they just didn't know and needed someone to tell them, kind of like when someone has something stuck in their teeth and they don't realize it.

Next time, try softening the blow, like saying "I'm sorry your parents, friends and teachers never told you and that you had to find out this way..."

That was an interesting point - I read the same thing and found it interesting. I think an interesting discussion could have revealed itself had the thread been allowed to progress that way. I certainly would be interested in learning more about that aspect our tobacco.

That guy never would have though. It was definitely a smug agenda post looking for either praise and worship for them bringing us the light, or soapbox moral high-roading and grandstanding.

Totally. Any answer that didn't agree with him was just wrong. Has that kind of all or nothing black white thinking that makes fanatics so annoying and troublesome. And the only facts that matter are the ones he agrees with and the rest are just unimportant. It's dangers because it has something you clearly shouldn't ingest, the fact that it doesn't significantly effect life expectancy unimportant. I love how he chided me for not reading the stuff. Which love that. Love the idea that we owe him that. Like it's his classroom. Or how clearly I couldn't have read it if I came to some other conclusion then his. I assume he because it seems like a woman would have been terrible in a less phallic way (just explaining my logic). When I read the articles with more comprehension. Basically it couldn't have understood he's not the smartest man in the room. My favorite is that I told him to not care about health. Which means it can't read anything more complicated then praise or scorn. I guess in a way he's a hero fighting the stereotype of pipe smokers not being knuckle dragging morons that need help putting their pants on in without it ending in serious injury or fatality.
Oh and by the way you know there is a zero chance he's not reading this post wondering why no one is smart enough to be defending and praising him. So yeah I do totally want to disprove their notion that they got the last word in.

Well here is the defense they desperately seek.... When the basics of being a human being are that much of a daily struggle it does require ones full attention to not fall asleep underneath bus tires and the like. So don't make fun of that. Remember we're talking about someone that can't figure out what's going to kill them and what won't. You'd be messed up too and hypervigilant if you had also spent half your adult life in emergency rooms with doctors telling you not to eat things that have that cool skull and cross bones label.
