Anyone Test Their Taste Buds to Understand Their Smoking Preferences?

Just guessing here, but doesn’t it seem as though the "taste" of tobacco is more a function of smell than of the taste buds? What do you gentlemen think?

This is what I came looking for. Most of what I "taste" seems to be a function of my olfactory senses rather than my tongue.
