Heh guys, I sent a pipe to Precision pipe repair about June 15, 2010 and have not got it back, nor any commo from the owner despite several emails to him concerning status. any knowledge about the situation of the company? all it was is a new stem replacement.

George at Precision Pipe Repair does great work. I sent a pipe to George at Precision earlier this year. It took over two months for me to get it back.
He said that he is really jammed up with work. I guess that is a price to pay for doing good work. Too much of it. It also sucks for the customers when everyone sends him their pipes to be repaired; a really long wait.
He told me that his computer blew up on him so he can't communicate through e-mails. I guess that he still has no computer. Give him a call on the number listed on his contact page of his site.

When I sent my pipes for clean up to Walker Briar Works it took 3-months to get them back. I think all these guys that do great work are super jammed up and it just takes them that long to get them done.

I've sent my Pipes to Floyd Norwood for years. His turnaround time is usually

24 hours, the repairs are first rate and the prices are reasonable.

This is to add to a post that is about 3 months old, concerning Precision Pipe Repair.

I sent George an old Charatan to be refurbished. This was in Feb. this year.

In March, I wrote him asking if he had recieved the pipe. I recieved an email stating that he had.

In May I emailed him again and asked how things were comming along. He emailed me back stating that mine was about 40% of the way in a line of 121.

I have since emailed him twice more asking about my pipe, but have not heard from him.

Now when I try to pull up his site, it just times out.

Does anyone have a phone number for him? I really would like to get my pipe back.

Thanks

I'll second Fred's comments re Norwood. One of the regulars at the B&M brings in 12-15 pipes every month for stems and other repairs. The owner sends them to Norwood and they're back within 10 days. Just in time for the next dozen to be sent out.

Long time no see Max!
The site is working for me. George Dibos from Precision has some serious medical problems recently and was in the hospital for a little while. That is why you haven't heard anything from him. He had to have surgery. I think he might be back home now, but he was out of commission for a couple of months.
In case the site is still not working for you, his phone number is 701-523-4882. I believe that he is located in the Mountain Time Zone so take that into account when you call him. I think that he is normally available around 3:00pm MST.

"Nachwalter", there's a name I haven't heard in quite a while. Last ones I saw were at Pipeworks in NYC years ago. He used to sure make some gorgeous pipes... I know, a little off the subject.

Thanks Bob.

Yes, it's been a while since I have posted anything. I moved to a different state during the summer, and am still trying to get caught up with everything.

I will give him a call later. Thanks again.
