I have a Savinelli Pisa which is similar in shape to your Florence but has a gloss finish. This is one of four Savs I currently own. None came with the balsa filters and all are exceptional pipes. Like my friend said earlier: You can't go wrong with one of these Italian masterworks.

Funny that I thought I knew the Savinelli lineup. They have tons of models and come out with new ones every year. Till today I never even heard of the Florence line, and when I was in Mission Pipes in Pleasanton a few hours ago, I was looking at that identical pipe, or at least its brother. All my Savs are very good puffers. Even their seconds line would be using the same briar source, and the reasons for 'seconding' them would be fills or maybe grain that would not command a higher grading.
