Jerwynn you make a good point there. It really is imperative to make notes of your home mixes just so as you can replicate them if they turn out to be winners.
One thing I forgot to mention was all my home mixes live in used round tins as they seal far better than square/oblong tins. Also, I have noticed a slight improvement in taste the longer the component parts are allowed to sit together though this should come as no surprise.
At some point in the near future I intend on putting one of my mixes into my press for a few weeks to see if that improves things even more.
