Oh I’m not saying I don’t acknowledge that it’s a thing, I’m just saying I literally don’t know anyone who has ever taken vitamin D, at least that has talked about it or shared it. Hell, they briefed us on it when I was in-processing on Fort Richardson. I’m just saying it’s almost like a myth, in my opinion. Unless lots of folks are taking the D and I just don’t hear about it at all, ever.
I think it's unnecessary if you drink milk or eat a lot of fish, and maybe red meat, I'm not sure. My wife can't drink milk so we only have it for coffee when my parents visit, like once a year. I know you mentioned milk earlier in the thread. You're probably right. If I drank milk regularly, I probably wouldn't need it. Also "need" is vb overly strong word. I can go without. I might start unnecessary arguments n stuff, but I'll survive.

If we were talking about supplements for alleviating arthritis in your knees, would there be this element of "you shouldn't need to take this", that there is when talking about vitamin D?

It's getting cool here in mile high Arizona. 27 degrees at night but high 50's at noon. If I want winter and snow I can drive to Flagstaff for a dose but not have to deal with it daily! I lived in MN for a time so too much winter is not for me.

We just had a brief bout with summer. Nothing I hate more than a day above 32 in the winter. I’d rather have sub 32 in the summer anytime. Sloppy, muddy, sandy slush everywhere SUCKS.

It gets just thawed enough to level out right before it freezes, causing everything to be slicker than catfish shit on a mossy river rock.

Precisely what I tell all the ninnies here celebrating above zero degrees temps in the winter and endlessly bitching anything below freezing. Winter thawing only means overnight refreezing and streets like skate rinks next day, with the subsequent increase in injuries due to falling.

Frankly, the only two things that suck about the winter are the wind and the myriad s'wits bitching about the cold and the snow... come to think of it, the wind ain't half as bad.

Heh, and many of the "I want endless summer" crybabies are the same ones going out of their minds about global warming.

I routinely tell folks about how much more I like the winter since it keeps most people inside. The majority folks who do come out are going skiing, and it’s nigh on impossible that I’d run into any of them there.

Something special about the wilderness on a calm, bluebird, -40 day.

Just stop living in the snow, dude. There are plenty of places where you dont have to suck all winter..

I tried Kansas once.. ice and snow everywhere. Damn that, I moved back home.. I slid through a walmart parking lot, and that did it.

Hey, look at that! I also lived in Minnesota for about 15 years (10 yrs in Northfield, 5 in St. Paul) before moving to Tucson. I traded 7 months of winter for 7 months of hot summer. I joke that I'll need to be here another decade at least for my body to achieve climatic equilibrium. You've got a much more temperate climate up there in the Prescott valley, however. Pretty much a perfect climate, if you ask me (and really beautiful!).

Born and bred in South Dakota whose winter temps were like Minnesota. Have lived in Kansas for the past 29 years. Better winter temps here. High supposed to be in the 60's the next 3-4 days.

I’ve got a foot of snow on the ground, had a weird warm spell a week or two back, but full on winter here. Actually nicer to smoke outside without all the bugs!
