Anyone else smoke cigarettes and pipes?

I have only ever tried 1 cigarette and will not be trying it again! Nasty vile things that turn your lungs black and make you sick. Pipe tobacco is much, much more enjoyable.

The nails, though evil, really give me the nicotine I want/need. It's a terrible habit, and I've yet to try a cig that comes close to tasting as good as even the most boring pipe tobacco. Even smoking the pipe with a high nicotine content doesn't come close to satisfying my nic urges. It sucks, but it is what it is. I wander back and forth between "smoking the pipe, and having only a couple of cigs a day" to "smoking the cigs because I don't have any time for a pipe". I really want to kick the nails permanently, but damn it's hard.

I think that is why I layer 90% of my bowls, for the nic. I find Drum was the key for me. Layer of Drum, layer of 1792 Flake, layer of Hal O The Wind. If it doesn't knock you out, you get enough nic.

Is there a reason that none of our pipe tobaccos come close to the Nic of a simple cig?
Do all the extra chemicals help deliver the Nic as quickly as possible?
Or does their leaf just have more Nic?

I heard that cigarette tobacco was sort of treated with amoniac so the body absorb it faster, so you get a bigger nic rush.

I guess the pipe tobacco company dont care about that since most of pipe smokers dont inhale.

Besides pipes, I smoke club cigarillos a few times a week. Similar nic hit compared to a bowl of latakia and orientals but delivered in about 7 minutes. I prefer the flavour from the pipe.

I have recently started rolling some pipe tobacco into cigs for a quick fix at work, but I dont inhale the smoke from my pipe or the cigs that I roll out of the pipe tobacco. Dunhills EMP makes a tasty cig, as does MacBaren Golden Extra. I recently got a pouch of the American Spirit Perique blend, which it turns out goes great in a cig or in a pipe. Again, I dont inhale either, which may sound strange for cigs, but not inhaling still gives me the nic that prevents me from clubbing someone over the head while not killing my lungs and giving me the hacks and coughs. Different smokes for different folks, I guess. :mrgreen:

If you're looking for a nic-hit there's plenty of blends that will blow your socks off and more than likely have you praying to the porcelin God after ten minutes.
As for smoking cigarettes, no I do not smoke cigarettes at all. I tried them a couple times as a teenager, but never got turned onto them. Taste horrible and leave a nasty smell on the clothes and breath. Much prefer the great taste of pipe tobacco and the fact that the lingering smell is pleasant.

When I first started smokin my pipe I didn't smoke a cig for 2 days but then the convenience of cigs set in...I generally smoke cigs but throw in a bowl here and there throughout the day

As of now I'm in the process of breaking in a newly refurbed Kaywoodie so my pipe smoking has increased

I smoke cigarettes regularly, bout a half pack to a full pack a day. I smoke pipe when I have more time to enjoy it.

I do both, but I want to quit cigs. They are just so convenient for quick fixes, sadly.
