I know we aren't allowed to talk politics on here and this post isn't about which side of the divide you're on.
I love all politics but especially American elections, and my favourite (apart from election night) are the debates.
Last time they were enthralling, especially the one that took place after Trump's p-word comment.
I'm well aware that they have many rehearsals with stand ins playing their opposition, and most of the zingers are pre prepared but I still love watching the way they go at each other.

Does it change many people's minds? I'd wager not but it makes for must watch tv, to me it does anyway. Coverage doesn’t start till 1:30AM UK time but I always enjoy staying up and watching it.

If you are sincerely curious about what debates have meant and currently mean to the American political process, I have heard a few interviews with or about this guy's book in the last couple weeks. It seems like a pretty dispassionate history.
