I stumbled on this tobacco on a Danish tobacconists webpage, anybody know it? It is called "West Gate - English Latakia Mixture." It isn't on tobaccoreviews.com. I would add a picture to this post if I knew how.

It may come from James Barber Tobacco Merchant, which is located on Westgate road in Otley, West Yorkshire.

I received a bag (100gr) of this today. Two bowls later I think I quite like it.
It came quite dry out of the bag, almost bone dry but I think I will keep it that way, it's smooth as silk with no bite whatsoever and although it burns faster than most it never degrades to ashy flavor while retaining all of its own.
Which brings us to the blend itself. It is supposed to be a Latakia, Virginia, Cavendish, Perique but it is peculiar. The Latakia make themselves known from the bag/jar note and they are the main and constant flavor. Not a lat bomb though since they are sweet and mild. The Cavendish weaves itself between puffs surprising me pleasantly with sweet -but never cloying- notes. The Perique gives a little spice mostly towards the final third of the bowl. And finally the Virginias are, well, never there for me. I struggled to get a tough of anything Virginia but so far nothing. Maybe later.
Overall, I like it, the dryness might be an issue to some but not to me and the flavors are always there but never overwhelming.
Oh, I can't speak for the nicotine content since I can never tell, maybe I need a nic bomb to set my tolerance point but so far, with Elizabethan Mixture being my strongest blend, I just can't tell... :puffy:
