Funny thing about Brazil: Acrylic and Ebonite are actually much more expensive materials than horn is.
We do raise cattle after all (Brazilian steakhouse anyone?) but import taxes for more traditional materials are overbearing. So our local pipemakers must make do.

I really like horn stems. I prefer them to acrylic. They feel a little odd on the teeth but I enjoy the sensation.
