I’m one of about three F1 fans in the US, but the forum seems to be pretty international. I figure there must be some European (and perhaps some other American) F1 fans that are going through withdrawals with me. Are you one of them?
I understand. I wish they’d go back to a non-hybrid formula. I miss the sounds of the old V10s howling around the track. Plus I think with the hybrids, they’ve hit a tech threshold that only the most financially-stacked teams can effectively navigate. It sucks seeing formerly great teams like Williams and McLaren struggling.I’ve always followed F1 and have watched going back to the Speedvision days. I not particularly excited about the series these days. ?
Erectile dysfunction! ? Those truly were some hideous cars. Not the most ridiculous-looking thing that the FIA’s rules ever produced, but pretty damn bad.20 years ago I loved watching F1.
Every race was like watching Star Wars for the first time.
Now the last six years of F1 looks and sounds like a multi-million dollar carpet cleaning competition.
The 2014 season should have been cancelled the moment anyone saw a race car with erectile dysfunction: 2014 Nose Cone Design - http://www.formula1-dictionary.net/nose_cone_2014_rules.html
That they waited seven years to properly address the issue is pure insanity. Thank goodness the 2020 season was cancelled, I hope they cancel 2021 as well and get straight to racing with the new regulations.
I'm a dedicated Indycar fan myself. Love open wheel racing. I don't get time to watch both Indycar and F1, but when I do, I'll watch a race here and there.I’m one of about three F1 fans in the US, but the forum seems to be pretty international. Oh no ? .Lewis Hamilton for President!!!
That is awesome. The 70s were a pretty intense period in F1 history. The cars had gotten so much faster and safety was still not on anyone’s radar.Way back in the day when I was a sports broadcaster for the Armed Forces Network in then "West" Germany, I covered the European/German Grand Prix at Nurburgring in 1973. Jackie Stewart won in '73 and retired at some point after that. For a country boy from Texas, it was one of the most spectacular events I ever covered.
