I spent a few days this summer in Port Isaac, the Cornish village where it's filmed, and drank a few pints in the general vicinity of Martin Clunes and the other cast and crew. That's the end of my story. I hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks for sharing - that's pretty cool - looks like an fun place to visit.

Not one to recommend shows but if you liked Doc Martin you may also enjoy Robert Carlyle in Hamish Macbeth.

DIRECTV also has re-runs of Mr. Clunes and cast- free and HD. Also, one of the characters- I think a receptionist- has a lead role in Humans, a miniseries that's about to wind up.

I thought this was a post about those heavy black ankle high boot that were a fashion years ago, or perhaps guitars. The Brits do highly addictive TV series.

I expected it to be about shoes as well. I liked them as my wide feet fit in them better than the Chuck Taylors and their skinny footed offerings.
I will look into the show. Sounds fun. British do the arts SO well...

Never heard of this one, but being a fan of British comedy (Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Mrs. Brown, On The Buses) I'll have to give this one a try.

It's a much slower 'burn' than the former two- much. Don't know Mrs. Brown (except for her lovely daughter) nor On the Busses.
If one is coming in on later eps, it'd be good to know that Doc is a surgeon who faints at the sight of blood.

If Cold war, spy stuff interests you, track down a recent 6 part drama from the BBC called The Game, very good series.
For lovers of Brit humour, find House of Fools, with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.

Also Man Down is really funny.

I always found the older BBC stuff to be the best ever made. But the new stuff is so politically correct that I find it distracting. Would be nice to make a show that didn't have to pacify various activist groups. But yes, Doc is a good show. I always likes As Time Goes By.
Edit: to the parents out there, the older British children's shows are outstanding.
