To Warren, thanks very much for that reply. Dingle is high on my list of where to stay for the trad sessions and the sheer beauty of the area. A pipe and a pint is my idea of a perfect afternoon too! Galway is still a maybe at this point, based on time available, plus the desired itinerary of the couple we'll be traveling with (I'll be the only driver).
As for why a throwaway lighter, once filled and used a torch can't be brought onboard an aircraft. A soft-flame can, but not a torch, and for cigars I prefer to use a torch. That's the one big downside of flying as a smoker. Even worse at Heathrow, where they won't even allow a soft-flame lighter through security.
