I bet, that’s really cool. Are you a volunteer or is that your job?
It's kind of a side job, I'm a veterinarian, we also raise and train Bloodhounds. Most of our dogs end up in law enforcement or TDC and Angola in Louisianna It's a lot of fun especially when the dogs start to understand what you're trying to teach them to do. The hardest thing is training the handlers.

Lifting a cup of coffee per usual early on a Saturday, if I need to mess with the remote, I'll lift my mug with the left hand a few times to keep things balanced. My days of lunchtime or early morning full court basketball, tennis when the wife wanted to beat me, cycling about in any significant way, are long in the rearview mirror - a knee issue and surgery put an end to any thoughts of BB/tennis 11years ago. I always despised running and swimming and could never stay with either. I play a lot of golf (well until a shoulder issue last season) and walk when playing as much as my compadres will allow, lol, use the push mower for exercise on our little half acre whether the lawn needs it or not, haha, but these days it's more about keeping as trim as I can and that's down to my eating habits more than anything. I'm out afield plenty in the fall/early winter chasing birds with the dogs, have a treadmill that gets use in the winter, when it snows enough (zero this year so far which is creepy for us it is so unusual) we are out on the snowshoes which is way more fun, and when I have the shoulder surgery my doc was predicting yesterday, I'm sure I'll have a wonderful rehab, lol, so I think I'll rest up for that. ;)

So no, I'm not a dedicated athlete these days and nothing about any of the above really translates to or relates to smoking a pipe. Honestly, I'm less likely to pick one up if I've had anything resembling a "workout".

Active cyclist. I rode 1500 miles last year (hampered by a move from MD to LA). I had easy access to the C&O Canal towpath up in MD and hundreds of miles of decent rural roads. Down here, the roads are scary, no shoulder, big ditches. I ride the Tammany Trace (old railroad line). It's paved, so I use road bike tires on my gravel bike. I'm hoping to explore some roads a little further out with some cycle groups in the Spring.

Annually, I ride my age in years on my birthday, started when I was 60. Below from this past August, on the Canal at 63. Temps were in the mid-90's, so I carried a lot to drink.

When the weather is bad, I ride indoors on my Zwift Hub trainer. It's a game, like the 1st person shooter games but cycling. I can compete with others, or ride by myself or with my brother who lives in PA. Back in MD, I had to use this all winter long. Down here, only on rainy days. This was in my basement in MD, now in the garage.
