My wife and I went roaming antique stores again a couple of weeks ago with my parents. I was pleased to find a really cool nautical themed round 6 pipe holder full of pipes! I also found a nifty little 2 pipe holder also. I am in the process of restoring the pipes this weekend. 3 are finished and 3 are in process. There are 4 Sasieni's, 1 green Dr. Grabow Viscount and 1 Kaywoodie. I am very impressed with how all of them are turning out. Most of them were pretty rough except for the Grabow which looks to have only been smoked once or twice. I'll post more pics of the others once finished. 20220813_190731.jpg

my one question on your pointer finger left hand is that stain or is the kind of injure I get all the time. You know just slice the skin off enough to get down to the wet bits. You know doesn't bleed but leaks salty watery stuff. It's right by the middle knuckle.
It's dye from refinishing the pipe I'm holding ?

A person could smoke for a decade or two and that's all they would need. Ready to go.

Great old briar and people who actually cared about the craft also. I love saving old stuff and restoring it to its former glory. Its my passion in every part of my life. Be it construction, old tools, holster making or work ethic...im your huckleberry ;)

I always ask the proprietor if they have any pipe stuff. Mostly no, but sometimes I do find things. But these days everyone fancies themselves tobacciana experts, and I'm finding vintage, dinged-up, bitten-through, no-name pipes that need to be completely restored going for $40. Found a whole container of those at a shop on Sanibel in Florida. Blah.

Your find is awesome. And your restoration work is fantastic!

I usually find the same overpriced beat to hell stuff also. We go pretty frequently though so I do find some gems fairly often.
Thank you I am pretty happy with the results and it was fun ?
My wife is now on a mission to find more also so its a win win!

One of my favorite things to do is to go to antique shops in search of pipes and the like. I have found a few gems over the years and it is very satisfying to take a dinged up pipe and restore it to smoking order. Many on my pipe rack, and my pipe rack, were antique store finds. Some of my favorite pipes have been obtained this way. Great job on the restoration!!!
