I purchased two pipes today from an antique store in downtown Olympia, WA. One of them is this Peterson 9BC. I'm really excited about it but it has a very small crack in the bowl. Since it seems to be a pretty rare pipe (SPC described one like this as a pre-republic "holy grail") I've decided to send it off for restoration rather than try to do it myself. It definitely needs a little TLC! Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!
The other one is an old meerschaum bowl that a guy found buried in Alaska (so the story goes). He saw it sticking out of the ground, dug out up, and cleaned it up really well. Since the stem was gone he stuck an old p-lip stem in it. After re-shaping, cleaning, and polishing the stem, it makes a great little smoker!
For them both for $100. I figure I did okay.
